A game that reached an unbelievable level of success on the PC and Xbox with over 150 million of registered users will soon come out on PS4. World of Tanks started as a PC exclusive but after it gained huge popularity it was announced for the Xbone where it continued to gain new fans. Today, via post on the Playstation Blog, TJ Wagner, Project Lead at Wargaming.net responsible for bringing World of Tanks to consoles has announced that the game will see the light of day on PS4.
A multiplayer beta will be launched somewhere in the next couple of months, with a full game to follow after all of the bugs spotted in the beta test get ironed out. What’s interesting is that the game will not demand PS Plus subscription so it will be a true free-to-play title, unlike the Xbone version which requires Xbox Live Gold subscription. On the other side “PS Plus members will have access to even more exclusive content and deals.”
The game has over 350 tanks to choose from and a huge number of maps, great graphics and intense, fast and exciting gameplay with battles that can support up to 30 players so the PS4 owners will have something interesting to play with the World of Tanks.
And is not that the game will just be ported to PS4 without any new features. TJ Wagner said :
“We’re tuning the experience specifically for PlayStation 4, supporting Dualshock 4 controllers, Share Play, PS Vita Remote Play, live streaming and more.”
As you can see the game will feature the full range of unique PS4 options. And that’s not all because “World of Tanks for PlayStation 4 will feature custom maps, custom tanks, custom skins and more.”
Well, this is indeed great news. World of Tanks was PC exclusive for years and now all of the gamers no matter on which platform they prefer will have a chance to play this marvelous game. As you probably already know now Wargaming, a company responsible for World of Tanks, have two more multiplayer titles in its portfolio. World of Warplanes is already out there, but the reception it gained both from critics and gamers is not on the same level as World of Tanks. The third game, World of Warships is set to release sometime in September and we have yet to see if it will be good as the first game. Both of these two games are available only on PC, and both are free-to-play.
